Want to vote for a Republican?
In the race for Lee County Commissioner for
District 3, there are two men who identify themselves as
Republicans:
Charlie Whitehead is running with No Party affiliation. He moved to Lee County in 1986. He was registered as a Republican when he moved here and still is.
Larry Kiker moved to Lee County in 1995. He registered to vote FOR THE FIRST TIME in 2006, a few short months before he put his name on the ballot for Fort Myers Beach town council. He registered with No Party Affiliation. In 2010, Kiker switched his registration to Republican. The ‘real Republican’ became one two years ago.
This man who asks for your vote never cast a ballot of his own until he could vote for himself.
These facts are easily verified by calling the Lee County Elections Office. The good news is that there is a Republican candidate to vote for. It is Charlie Whitehead.

Lee County needs and deserves a commissioner who will work to create consensus and work cooperatively to tackle tough issues. Things are different now and we need a different approach. I am not a bureaucrat and not a politician. I know what it’s like to work for a living.
After 25 years covering Lee County government, I know the issues we face. I know how things work and why they don’t work. I know I can do things better and make things better in Lee County.
